The Brooklands Double Twelve Weekend
Incorporating the Brooklands Double Twelve Concours & Driving Tests as well as the VSCC Speed Championship – Round 3 – Brooklands Sprint

 

The Vintage Sports-Car Club head down South for The Double Twelve, which is a packed weekend of Motorsport at the Brooklands Museum, using the neighbouring Mercedes-Benz World track for a Sprint on Saturday, the Double Twelve Concours on Saturday & Sunday and the Brooklands Double Twelve Driving Tests on Sunday.

Round 3 of the VSCC Speed Championship now in its third year, has proved to be hotly contested, who will win Fastest Time of the Day? Will Julian Grimwade triumph now Ian Baxter is out of the running or will Terry Crabb’s ERA be back with a vengeance?

Practice kicks off the proceedings at 1000 hrs and competitive runs at 1400 hrs.
With an onsite café serving hot and cold food which is open from 0800 hrs – 1700 hrs.Entry on the gate is £13.50 for Adults, £11.50 for Seniors & Students, £35 for Family (2 Adults and up to 3 Children) and £7 for Children (5-16). BTM & LBPT Members go for free.

Brooklands Double Twelve Driving Test take place on Sunday, utilising the Test Hill and the newly restored finishing straight. The driving tests are a popular element of the Double Twelve with 69 Entries, a large range of cars will pit themselves against each other, with passengers to help aid the drivers winding their way between the cones. The Oldest Car is a 1907 Berliet/Curtiss with 8.2 litres which will have been taking part in the Sprint on Saturday taking on the Youngest 1979 Triumph Spitfire with a 1.5 litre engine.

As well as the main competitions, the Test Hill Challenge will also take place. This will involve everything from motorcycles to giant pre-war racing cars tackling the punishing 352ft (107m) slope, including running races for energetic children.

The Brooklands Double Twelve Concours takes place over the two days of the Double Twelve meeting, which harks back to the Pre-war Double Twelve meetings. This year there are 30 Entries with the Oldest Car, a 1912 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost and the youngest a 1978 Ferrari 308.

With a number of catering facilities onsite serving hot and cold food which is open from 0800 hrs – 1700 hrs.

Entry on the gate is £13.50 for Adults, £11.50 for Seniors & Students, £35 for Family (2 Adults and up to 3 Children) and £7 for Children (5-16). BTM & LBPT Members go for free.
